Scented Cup Candle (Container Candle) Components?

Scented cup candles, also known as container candles, are a popular home fragrance product. They primarily consist of the following components:

1. Wax Base

  • The main ingredient that determines burning performance and melting point. Common types include:

    • Soy Wax: Natural, eco-friendly, long burn time, minimal soot.

    • Beeswax: Natural but higher cost, stable burn, subtle honey scent.

    • Paraffin Wax: Affordable but may produce black smoke; often used in mass production.

    • Coconut Wax: Premium option, clean burn, higher price.

    • Blended Waxes (e.g., soy + beeswax): Balances cost and performance.

2. Fragrance (Essential Oils/Synthetic Scents)

  • Provides the aroma. Categories:

    • Synthetic Fragrances: Strong, long-lasting, cost-effective, but may contain chemicals.

    • Natural Essential Oils (e.g., lavender, citrus): Healthier but less potent and volatile.

  • Typical dosage: 5%-10% of wax weight (excess may affect burning).

3. Wick

  • Materials: Cotton, wood (e.g., birch), or eco-friendly fiber.

  • Selection depends on wax type and candle diameter to prevent soot or uneven burning.

4. Container

  • Materials: Heat-resistant glass (aesthetic), ceramic, or metal tins.

  • Design should complement the wax color/fragrance theme.

5. Additives (Optional)

  • Dyes: Liquid or block pigments for color customization.

  • Thickeners (e.g., microcrystalline wax): Improve texture.

  • UV Inhibitors: Prevent fading (especially in clear containers).

6. Decorative Elements (Optional)

  • Dried flowers, cinnamon sticks, glitter, etc. (Note: Ensure fire safety).

Important Notes:

  • Safety: Center the wick to avoid container overheating.

  • Eco-Friendliness: Soy or coconut wax is easier to clean and leaves less residue.
